We have been blessed once again with a beautiful, healthy baby. God graciously answered this Mother-hen’s prayers for a non-induced labor and delivery and a somewhat smooth recovery (I hear that recovery gets harder the older you are–I believe it!!). So… after making her Daddy-man and me wait 10 extra days…our newest chick finally arrived on January 24th. She weighed in at 9lbs., 4oz. and 21″ long! She looks just like her Daddy-man…right down to the style of her dark hair and that little crease in her ear. Our other chicks couldn’t be happier…even Tink, who has been the “Princess” in the eyes of her siblings for the last 2 1/2 years.

We were a little concerned that Tink would not like being ousted as the family “baby”…boy were we wrong! Tink has taken to her new sister with great gusto. She tenderly sings “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” whenever the baby cries. She kisses the baby gently on the top of the head after whispering “I love you”. She shows great concern that the baby has not lost her “belly button”, proclaiming at each diaper change: “Me no like that belly button!” as only a two year old can. She has, with all sincerity and earnestness, taken to her role as”Big Sister” as the proverbial duck takes to water.
